NPR hosted a re-broadcast of a 1990 interview in which pacifist poet William Stafford described his relationship to the land, and the ways in which the "lucky mistakes" of writing flow together, like a river's current, to guide the direction of a poem. SAN FRANCISCO INTERNATIONAL POETRY FESTIVAL

July 27 - 29, 2007 a city wide Internatonal Poetry Festival featuring 15 poets from around the world was held in San Francisco and enjoyed by thousands. The festival headlined past and present S.F. Poet Laureates, including Jack Hirschman and Lawrence Ferlinghetti. The event is presented by the San Francisco Public Library and Friends.
